Q. Is aluminum cladding fireproof?
We use fire-retardant cores (FR) or solid aluminum plates that meet stringent NYC Building Code and NFPA 285 fire safety standards.
Q. Can panels be installed over existing brick?
Yes. Aluminum panels are excellent for retrofitting. We install a sub-girt system over the existing substrate to create a level, air-ventilated cavity.
Q. What is the maintenance required?
Aluminum cladding is virtually maintenance-free. A standard mild detergent cleaning every 1-2 years is usually sufficient to maintain the PVDF finish.
Q. How do you handle water drainage?
We typically utilize 'Rain Screen' systems which allow water to weep through planned drainage paths, keeping the primary building envelope dry.
